SCIENCE WORD OF THE WEEK!
Welcome to another week in class! We have a great word today and an exciting week ahead for you! Ellie and Edmond will be talking birds all week!
Today’s word is Shorebird: a bird that frequents the seashore, estuaries, wetlands and marshes. Some types shorebirds include plovers, pelicans, gulls and sandpipers.
Do you have a favorite shorebird?
I do love seagulls. When I was in Florida, we had a seagull buddy who would come to us every day. At first he looked like he didn’t have a leg and people would give him extra food. Then after 2 days, the leg appeared and he hopped that day and people gave him extra food. The last day he walked just fine and he didn’t get extra food. I think the seagull was performing an experiment… and I bet he went back to one leg after we left.
