CINCO DE RHINO!
Happy May 5th, or as we like to call it- Cinco De Rhino! We’re celebrating these amazing animals today and hopefully bringing some awareness to their plight in the wild.

SCIENCE WORD OF THE WEEK!
Welcome back to class everyone! We had a little hiatus while Ellie and Edmond took a vacation in Chicago! I heard they had a fantastic time and they’ll be posting pictures later in the week! Today let’s get to the Science Word of the Week!
Today’s word is Ungulate: an animal with hooves. Ungulates are mammals. They often walk on the tips of their toes that are covered with a hoof. Ungulates can have one or more toes. Their are many ungulates in the world. Here are just a few, including Edmond and rhinos! Tomorrow we’ll be celebrating Cinco De Rhino!
HAPPY WORLD TAPIR DAY!!
We’re celebrating some fun animals today! Tapirs are a bit odd looking with their elongated snoots and their hooved feet.
You might even think they are related to elephants, but they are not! Tapirs are in fact related to horses! Isn’t that cool! If you forgot that fun fact, you revisit our We Are Fanimaly!

WORLD PENGUIN DAY!!
We just love these flightless birds! Edmond was so inspired to by penguins he wrote a poem for them on World Penguin Day! You can check out last year’s post with fun drawings here! Penguins! We love the largest of your species; those Emperors live where it freezes!
Penguins! We love it when your feathers molt, it’s as if they all revolt!
Penguins, penguins, penguins so many reasons to love you and these have been just a few!
ARBOR DAY!
We celebrated Earth Day on Wednesday and today we’re celebrating Arbor Day! We are BIG tree lovers here! We love trees for so many reasons, so we wrote a poem for them! Tell us why you love trees!

EARTH DAY 2015!
We’re having a party for our planet today! This great big blue planet has so many amazing places and animals that we love! We work everyday to share those animals with you and share ways that we can all contribute to making the planet a better place for all animals and people!

Recycle! Recycle plastic, glass, aluminum and paper! Take electronics to a special recycling drop-offs!

Hi everyone! We know that today is typically Science Word of the Week, but we have some big plans this week- including Earth Day and Save the Frogs Day, so we’d thought it would be fun to do a We Are Fanimaly, and we included Professor Tamandua!
That’s right, sloths and tamanduas/anteaters are related!
Who knew these amazing animals were related? We love sloths and of course tamanduas rank high with us too! Do you have a favorite Xenarthra?
